@ Product Designer

Gen Z users are struggling to find meaningful connections and engage in fulfilling social interactions on existing social networking. These platforms tend to emphasize superficial connections based on follower count, leaving users craving authentic relationships and real-life experiences. The current landscape fails to effectively facilitate connections between like-minded individuals and does not cater to the unique preferences and needs of the Gen Z demographic. Consequently, this constant exposure to social media has a negative impact on the mental health of users, causing feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and loneliness.

Duration: 8 weeks

Responsibilities:

Served as Product Designer, responsible for end-to-end product vision, UX strategy, and UI design.

Led user research, including surveys, interviews (15 participants), and “Memory Basin” service-design workshops to identify Gen Z’s social connection pain points.

Conducted competitive and market analysis to uncover gaps in existing social platforms and synthesize key user insights.

Designed the information architecture and user flow, introducing an “interest-based matching + offline interaction” model that bridges digital and real-world connections.

Created wireframes and prototypes in Figma to visualize the product’s core experience and test usability.

Defined visual identity and interaction design, establishing Yoomi’s brand tone, color system, and motion style.

Delivered comprehensive design outcomes, including user-research documentation, flow maps, wireframes, brand style board, and high-fidelity clickable prototype.
